Ian Murphy Study

Ian Murphy is a fine liner Artist. He achieves his style by layering up a unique background and drawing on top. What I like most of all about his work is the use of tone, he manages to create such detailed work with just one colour.

The Tempietto -

Rome, Italy            

To create Ian Murphy's style in his background's. He starts by sticking brown paper vertically down the page, then layers newspaper horizontally on top. Afterwards, he covers the page in PVA glue and sticks on crumpled parchment paper. Once it's dried he adds a layer of charcoal.
